This fact is very upsetting to me: in Lexington, MA, the price of a gallon of gasoline has risen to the unbearable amount of 4.49!  Right out of my morning shower, I turned on the Today show to watch a segment where my very favorite, Matt Lauer, interviewed the CEO of ExxonMobil, Rex Tillerson about the huge profit his company has received and how that coinsides with the high price of gas today.

The very first thing out of ultra-wealthy Mr. Tillerson’s mouth was the amount of money it costs that industry to operate for a day.  I could care less if it cost $10.00 or $10 Billion dollars — the fact remains that WE ARE PAYING RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY FOR GAS AND THE GAS COMPANIES ARE SHOWING A P-R-O-F-I-T!!!

What is wrong with this picture?  Last week I took my 2001 Toyota Sienna to the gas station for a FULL fill-up and it cost me $63.50!  I remember fondly to the days where a fill up was no more than $25.00!  Granted, that was the first year I owned the vehicle, but why has the price of gas tripled and the company continue to profit from that increase?

Admittedly, after I heard Mr. Tillerson avoid the fact that his company made a record profit and point a finger at the types of cars we “choose” to drive, well, I’d had all I could stand and I turned the TV off.  Sorry Matt, but I think you let him get away with not answering the question posed: How do you explain the astronomical price of gas with the high profit your company has made?  Come on, he’s worse at answering direct questions than any politician I’ve heard in my 44 years.  Blah, blah, blah, that’s all he has to say.  NBC, keep weak, spineless mouth pieces like him off of your show — stick with dignity and integrity not the smoke and mirrors that came out of your guest this morning.

We want answers, not excuses!
