I’m finding that the time is fling by at such break-neck speed that I want to sit in as many moments as I can, in order to enjoy every sense that is affected.
I had the kids this weekend and we spent some of our time just sitting on the couch together watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was Abbie’s birthday last week so this past Saturday she asked me if she could have “a few friends” over to watch a movie and hang out. Four weeks ago when we agreed on this arrangement and I said it would be okay to have boys AND girls, I wasn’t specific enough! Moms everywhere here me now!!! Make sure you both agree on the number of friends that will come over. Much to my surprise (and horror) Little Miss Abigail invited sixteen kids over! That’s sixteen 14-year-olds in my tiny little house. Folks, please, learn from my mistakes. If you are ever (nuts) enough to allow a party like the one Abbs had this weekend, in addition to allowing no more than 5 kids over, keep the time that they are at your house SHORT~~More than 3 hours is too long unless you’ve hired the Flying Woolendas to entertain.
When I called to order the pizzas to be delivered, I also asked if the pizza-guy could find me some Xanax! (He let me down…)
More than anything in this world, I love spending time with my children. It feels like yesterday that they had that awesome, fresh baby-smell and I was wiping drool off the back of my shirt. Time goes by so quickly that it could be easy to miss some of these precious times. So I’m trying to spend my time where it matters and with the people who matter the most to me: my children and my friends.
Cherish every moment that God has given you, you won’t be disappointed.
Be well.
